The program features filmmaker Todd Haynes (Poison, I’m Not There, Carol, and Dark Waters) in conversation with The Warhol’s Director of Film & Video, Greg Pierce. The two discuss Warhol’s brief but artistically rich relationship with the proto-punk band the Velvet Underground and their sonic contributions to Warhol's multi-media extravaganzas Up-Tight and the Exploding Plastic Inevitable. Haynes also spotlights his new documentary feature titled The Velvet Underground. A screening of Warhol’s The Velvet Underground and Nico follows their talk.
